Story Summary
"Monstrous" tells the story of people who are lured by the curse of "that thing" that shouldn't be in the world, and tells the story of the case of archaeologists hunting down a never-before-seen monster. With the discovery of a mysteriously possessed Buddha statue, a village is plunged into disaster, the confusion of people facing the strange horror and the process of chasing.
Jung Ki-hoon searches for strange paranormal phenomena as an archaeologist, but an unexpected case changes his life. He now publishes Monthly Strange Stories of Mystery magazine and runs the YouTube channel Monthly Strange Stories. Because of his ex-wife Li Xiuzhen, he went to Jinyang County to study "Gwibul" (Buddha statue possessed by evil spirits). There, he faces an incredibly bizarre and terrifying phenomenon.
Lee Soo Jin once worked as an archaeologist to decipher letters and symbols. Her work is excellent. However, her only child died, and she went to Jinyang County again. There, Lee Soo-jin experiences mysterious phenomena that lead her to search for answers.
Meanwhile, Jinyang County Police Chief Han Seok-hee, her son Han Do-kyung, Governor Kwon Jong-soo, and troublemaker Kwok Yong-joo, among others, are all faced with an unimaginable and bizarre phenomenon. Edit Synopsis
