The Forbidden Marriage (Korean: 금혼령, 조선혼인금지령) is a 2022 Korean television series based on Chun Ji Hye's webtoon Geumhonlyeong: Joseonhoningeumjilyeong (금혼령-조선혼인금지령). It is a historical romance drama about a crown prince who loses his wife and meets a con artist who claims to be possessed by the spirit of a deceased princess.

The Forbidden Marriage Plot Summary
Lee Heon is the king of Joseon. Seven years ago his beloved wife passed away when he was crown prince. So far, he has not been able to overcome her death. For the past seven years, the royal family and officials have attempted to remarry King Lee Hun, but without success.
The state also enforced a ban on marriage, prohibiting all single women from marrying during this period when the king was unmarried. People are outraged by the marriage ban. One day, King Lee Heon hears the story of a woman named Ye So-rang who claims that the queen's soul exists in the royal palace.
Meanwhile, Ye Sorang claims that she interprets signs of unity as an impostor. She is arrested and imprisoned at the place where Officer Lee Shin-won works. In order to get out of her predicament, she pretends to be possessed by Lee Sin-won. During her deception, she mentions that the soul of King Lee Heon's dead wife exists in the palace. Then bring her before her king and the king asks if she can really see the soul of her dead wife. In order to survive her, Ye Sorang acts as if her own body was possessed by the king's dead wife.
